Green tea or loose green tea, you have probably already heard a great deal about it and how it is a healthy option for you. In fact, its popularity has increased so much that it has become a regular household item. Its well publicized benefits might encourage you to rush out and buy some for yourself, but you will need to know that making loose green tea is not quite the same as making a cuppa with the more commonly used black tea. One of the most important things to remember, and something that is probably the most commonly mistake, is the temperature of the water. With black tea, it is well known that the water should still be boiling when it is added to the tea to get the best possible tasting brew.
Brewing Loose Green Tea the Right Way

Loose green tea is best made using water that is around 73-76 C to achieve the best effect. Also, don’t brew the tea for any longer than two minutes because, again, this can make the brew too bitter. One more thing to remember is that when being brewed, loose green tea leaves will expand significantly, so it is important to allow enough room for this expansion.
Using a tea pot that is too small will not allow the flavor to circulate throughout the brew effectively causing much of the flavor to remain locked in the leaves. Using good water is also very important when making green tea because although excellent, the green tea flavor is delicate and can be ruined by impurities in the water. When making green tea it is a good idea to use natural mineral water or filtered water to avoid impurities that can ruin the brew. By following these few easy steps, you can make green tea that is not only good for you but also tastes great.
