With obesity as a major health problem, people are clamoring to try this natural and simple means of losing weight. However, although various studies show green tea does indeed help lose weight, it is only a supplementary weight loss method and must still be coupled with a proper balanced diet and exercise.

Weight Loss With Loose Green Tea

There are those who look for desperate measures to lose weight like starving themselves or taking diet pills. Temporary weight loss may be achieved with these severe methods but starving oneself will only lead to the body’s system shutting down so as not burn more calories and to compensate, would burn protein instead. So for the most part, weight loss is due to the loss of muscle and not fat. Once you start eating again, your body will tell you to eat more than necessary because it has been starved of calories, and eventually, you just put back all those pounds or kilos you lost and then gain some more.

A daily intake of loose green tea however, plus medium or moderate food consumption and 20-30mins exercise daily, will give a long term benefit of weight loss, but it is no quick fix or magic pill.

Loose green tea has properties that aid the metabolism. It allows your body to burn calories faster and therefore, burns fat as well. This is important when trying to lose weight on a permanent basis. You need to aim at losing fat and not muscle.

Even after achieving your ideal weight, you should consider drinking this tea not just for its weight loss benefits but for health benefits too. It contains natural anti-oxidants that can help fight cancer and other diseases, amongst many other benefits that keep tea one of the most popular drinks in the world.

    I’ve read many blogs about loosing weight and green tea and they all say it is really effective, I have yet to try this thing out. Though I am kinda undecided since I have hyperthyroidism.

    I really enjoyed reading this – I drink green tea (and peppermint tea) on an almost daily basis, to try and replace the ridiculous amount of tea and coffee I go through! Having done this for a few years now, I personally think it does suppress the appetite (alot of people believe they are hungry when they are actually thirsty and green tea can help hydrate and get rid of this problem).

    I also love a Roi bosh at night time, but I want to have a nosey around your site and see what else there is :)
