Green tea with Blooming Tea Ball

Green tea keeps getting great accolades as a really healthy and beneficial product. Here’s an excerpt from my health insurance provider’s (HFC) latest members’ newsletter on why lovely loose green tea is good for our eyes. And the eye catching part was the glass teapot with a blooming tea ball. And of course blooming tea balls can have loose green tea , as well flowers tea, and many others types of tea.
“Within the next two decades about one million Australians will be blind or will suffer vision loss. However, about 75% of these problems are preventable or treatable.
Jennifer Gersbeck, Chief Executive Office of Vision 220, a national organisation encouraging Australians to improve their eye care says one avenue to maintain healthy eyes may be to consider swapping your morning latter for a loose green tea.
New research in the Amercian Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry says ingredients in green tea – including vitamins C and E, lutein and zeayanthin – are absorbed by eye tissues and help protect the lens and retina. Green tea or loose green tea is also rich in antioxidants that may help protect against eye diseases such as glaucoma.
